3/4 cup soft butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 1/4 cup flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground ginger
sugar for rolling
Cream sugar and butter. Add egg, molasses, then dry ingredients. Form into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar, then bake on greased cookie sheet for 12 minutes at 375.
Tip: The dough is very sticky. Stick it in the freezer for about 10 minutes before forming balls to reduce stickiness.
