Powdered Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookies

I don't know girls... I am definitely going to have to throw my chocolate chip cookie recipe into the ring. I've got to say, these are the absolute best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had!

I've made these several times, but I specifically remember making them for Nate's baby shower.

(The recipe came from Sammy's grandmother, Doris Rogers.)

2 cups soft butter
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 cups flour
12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Cream butter and sugar, beat in vanilla. Stir in flour until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Shape dough into one inch balls. Flatten with a fork like peanut butter cookies. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. While cookies are still warm, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

YUMMY! Enjoy!

Yes, they are different type of chocolate chip cookie. Every Christmas, his grandmother makes a HUGE batch of these. I think she actually starts way before Christmas & freezes the dough. Because, once all his family gets there, the house is packed full & this is the one cookie that everyone always wants!

I have just made these cookies and when you say they are "different" did you mean horrible? These are the worst tasting and textured cookies that I have ever made. Do not attempt to make these. YUCK!!

I just made these and the are "okay" they tasted more like a mediocre sugar cookie and have a somewhat strange after taste, but considering that I didn't use any eggs, brown sugar, baking soda/powder, or salt, I didn't expect them to taste as good as they did. But I do feel like it wasn't worth wasting 2 cups of my butter on this recipe.

My goodness people! No need to be rude since people have different tastes! These cookies are fabulous - they are a shortbread cookie (lots of fat, no eggs). Because of having no eggs, the dough freezes extremely well with no loss of flavor when ultimately baked.

Made these today, but did raisings, oats, coconut, pecans/walnuts/peanuts,and a little less chocolate chips (plus no owdered sugar on them at the end). they smell great and taste really nice too. not super sweet, but really satisfying.

thanks

I think this is the closest to what I used to make and looking for the recipe. This sounds like it except the one I used to make had chocolate chips in it. But I definitely will make this tomorrow to give my girlfriends.

Me and my roommate just made these and didn't like them very much to be honest.... they have the texture of a biscuit.
