Casey's grandmother gave me this recipe at my recipe shower right before we were married. The funny thing is that Casey never remembered her making these and neither did his mom. So, I feel quite honored to have this recipe. It is definitely a favorite at our house.
(Please note: when I made these for Life Group last night, I doubled the recipe.)

1 package (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
3/4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In a small saucepan, combine butter, sugar and water and bring to just a boil over medium-high heat. Remove from heat and add 1 cup chocolate chips and vanilla. Stir until chips melt and mixture is smooth. Transfer to a larger bowl and add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually blend in flour mixture. Stir in remaining chocolate chips. Spread into greased 8 inch pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool completely and cut into squares.
